On World Disability Day, Kenyan gospel singer Daddy Owen, through his Malaika Tribute Awards is set to offer free corrective surgery for children.

The ‘Wewe Ni Mungu’ singer has collaborated with Cure Kenya and 13 other celebrities to help 20 children in need of corrective surgeries.

Some of the celebrities behind the noble December 3 initiative include DJ Mo, Dr Ofweneke, Mojishortbabaa, Masterpiece, Ayrosh, Collo, Timeless Noel, Carol Radull, Maureen Waititu, Wendy Bella, Linda Ndiritu and Jane Kanyi.

Raising funds

According to the event organisers, the celebrities have launched an ambitious initiative of raising Sh6 million for the surgeries.

One of the way they intend on raising the money is through the sale of T-shirts, with one retailing at Sh1,000. So far, over 300 T-shirts have been sold.

Concert

The culmination of the campaign will be the #AbilityFest happening at Uhuru Gardens.

The event will be headlined by singers Denno, Mojishortbabaa and Jabidii, Dj Euphoria, Didi and more.
