Kenyans have today reacted in sorrow and anguish over the death of seven popular Kalenjin artistes who were involved in an accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on December 9, 2017.

According to sources, the seven artistes; Keneni International (Josphat Weldon Cheruiyot), Mabengo, Sun star, Dj Nico En Embassy and three dancers perished in the accident after a Toyota Probox car that they were travelling in collided head on with a truck.

Rift Valley Traffic Enforcement Officer Zero Arome said that the Pro-box vehicle was heading towards Nakuru and was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the lorry.

The seven Kalenjin artists were reportedly heading for a mega Kalenjin night event that was scheduled to take place in Timboroa, Nakuru County.

Keneni was a renowned singer in the Kalenjin land for pelting out hits such as “Samantha” which opened doors for him to tour and perform in mega events including his crowning moment at Churchill show in Eldoret.

The bodies were moved to Molo District hospital mortuary.
