  • They urged the opposition to respect women

Jubilee women leaders have hit out at NASA presidential aspirant Raila Odinga.

Led by Nairobi County speaker Beatrice Elachi, Former Nairobi woman rep Rachel Shebesh and former Embu gubernatorial aspirant, they accused Raila of making remarks interpreted by some to demeaning to women.

During a rally held on 7th October at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, the women leaders urged the opposition to either go to the ballot or concede defeat to Jubilee, with 18 days remaining to the General Elections.

Raila allegedly uttered the remarks after a female protestor was captured on tape stripping during NASA demos pushing for electoral reforms and exit of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.

The women leader’s accusations are based on a controversial video with a panty phrase used which has created debate across social media.

While some claim that women were urged to reveal their underwear while protesting, others claim that on the contrary, women were encouraged to show their faces during the demos.
