I first came to Nairobi in 2012. What was meant to be a work-related trip turned out to be a sightseeing tour and opportunity to make new friends and meet potential clients.
Nairobi, unlike Lagos, is a bit chilly and calmer. Well, both cities have crazy traffic, but Nairobians are polite on the roads. I also noticed that the Nigerian accent is very popular in Kenya. Whenever I told someone that I was from Naija, they would start imitating our accent.
I hear they pick it from movies and Nigerians living in Kenya. Kenyan girls are not only classy and stylish, but also very pretty. They all look like models from a movie scene shot in the streets of London. I’m not saying that Nigerian girls are not attractive, it’s only that Kenyans are a bit polite compared to my sisters back in Lagos.
I really enjoyed shooting in Kenya because there are a variety of shooting locations to choose from - ranging from monumental buildings to nature and beautiful people. The artistes here also give the director a chance to voice his ideas and only interupt when need be.
