Remember the story about officials who chose to use club funds to pay themselves seating allowances? Well, after the club ushered in new officials, the desire to run things differently has unearthed the filth left behind by the previous office holders.
According to a senior club official, the driver of their team bus has been swimming in a pool of money.
“Whenever players are paid their winning bonuses, the driver too gets paid as if he also sweats on the pitch,” the official was overheard saying.
The driver’s contract only entitles him to a basic salary and night out allowances whenever the team travels out of town.
However, when the club officials were busy in boardroom wrangles, the driver worked in cahoots with the club secretariat to include non-playing staff in the list of players, thus drawing thousands of shillings every time the team won.
