Desperate Venezuelans are now using a smartphone app, that helps in finding toilet paper, currently scarce in the country.
The app, few weeks ago, uses crowd sourcing technology to enable users to let each other locate stores where stocks haven’t run out.
Abasteceme – meaning “Supply Me” in English, is a free Android app which has already been downloaded more than 12,000 times, mostly by residents of Caracas (the capital city), said the Creator, Jose Augusto Montiel. He said: “Lots of things are in short supply, but what people are most worried about is finding toilet paper.”
Economists blaming scarcity on government impossed price controls. President claims anti-government forces are deliberately buying up basics like toilet paper to destabilise the country.
