Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has warned of an impostor conning people on social media using his name and that of Senator Mike Sonko at a fee.
“Please be warned that this is an imposter using my name and that of Senator Mike Sonko to con innocent Nairobi residents. I have not organised any event that will donate motorcycles as claimed,” said Kidero, further explaining that the impostor operates an online page titled “Evans Kidero” where prospective victims are informed that City Hall, Sonko Rescue Team and Evans Kidero Foundation have organised a charity and is giving out nine motorbikes to deserving youths across the country.
The fictitious project was to kick off on October 7 targeting youth who will be able to pay for purported log books. The cheat goes ahead to ask for participants’ personal details.
