Fauzia Abdulkadir aka Ms Fawwie is a fashion director and owner of Fawwie’s Workshop.

Pulse: Where do you mostly shop?
Fawwie: I shop anywhere; vintage stores, New York, Dubai, South Africa, local designers in Kenya, West Africa and South Africa... the list is endless.

P: What is the one wardrobe essential you cannot live without?
F: Obviously, innerwear.

P: What types of accessories dominate your wardrobe?
F: I am really simple when it comes to accessories but I love to collect great watches. Since I began working for Coke Studio Africa, I have met a couple of jewellery designers whose collections I’m experimenting with.

P: Your style is mostly chic. Would you consider street style?
F: I like how you specified and said my style is chic - but it is also street, although very grown and sexy. It’s edgy and always changing.

P: When you can’t think of anything to wear, what would be your go-to outfit?
F: Well, when I am having a bad hair day, I will wear a turban with my outfit because it has to be perfect. Otherwise, I will go for boyfriend jeans and a tank-top.

P: What inspired you to become a make-up artist?
F: First it is a passion and something I studied for. It has enabled me to work with great companies like Mac and now I run my own make-up company, Fawwie’s Workshop.

P: Your dream outfit would be?
F: A dress by Balmain.

P: What type of shoes catch your eye?
F: Manolo Blahniks.

P: What do you think about the peplum silhouette?
F: Well, I think it all depends on how you wear it. It has a very feminine feel

P: Would you consider ombre for your hair?
F: Yes, I would.

P: Your closet mostly consists of...
F: Shoes and handbags.

P: What is the best fashion advice you have ever received?
F: Sincerely, I have never received any fashion advice.
