Think before you start talking nonsense on social media — Uhuru warns

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday hit out at those who are busy criticizing the government during this pandemic.

The Head of State took issue with those who faulted his decision to send flowers to the UK saying he made the decision to ensure Kenya stands in a better position once things start moving.

“Hayo maua tumetuma, corona itaisha na watakumbuka soko ikifunguliwa, watanunua maua ya wale waliwakumbuka wakati wa shida,” he said.

Adding: “Coronavirus will not be with us forever, this is the time to think of how we shall revive our economy, it’s very important to see ahead, we must think of ways to revive our economy.”

On a lighter note, President Kenyatta also asked couples to take this time to know each other better and mend their relationships.

Due to cessation of travel and the 7pm to 5am curfew, couples are now spending more time together and the President has asked them to make good use of this time wisely.

He emphasized that the government was working to flatten the Corona curve and ensure that the country gets back to its feet.

“Over the coming weeks, I will give some practical directions on post-COVID-19 pandemic social-economic recovery strategies.

“I want to assure the workers that I have their back.  And I will do everything to protect them from the economic downturn and the political opportunists who feed their ambitions on the misery of workers,” said the President.

Adding: “We shall “Komesha Corona”, “Tutaokoa Uchumi wetu”.  We shall build a greater shared prosperity that will deliver more jobs and better lives for all our people.”
