Rarieda MP Otiende
Amollo has asked DP William Ruto to direct his wrath at the killers of Kipyegon
Kenei and not the DCI.
Speaking during an
interview on NTV, the lawmaker said the DP should be thanking the DCI for
making progress in solving the murder case instead of criticizing him.
“If someone from your office has died under mysterious circumstances and the DCI investigation shows that it is murder the first thing you should do is thank them.
“You should direct your
wrath to the killers, not to the investigators,” he said.

Last week, Ruto called for speedy investigations into the
murder of Kenei who worked at his Harambee Annex office.
The DP said the DCI should reveal Kenei’s killers and the
motive, not leaving out the manner he was killed.
He termed recent actions by media houses regarding the case
as distortions that are aimed at tarnishing people’s reputations.
Speaking during Kenei’s burial, Ruto said he was aware of a
scheme that was orchestrated to destroy his office and his future plans but
asked those responsible to leave innocent Kenyans out of it.
“You may have the system but we have God and the blood of
this innocent man will not go scot free [sic],” he remarked.
A visibly furious DP also took time to lash out at DCI boss
George Kinoti telling him to focus on his investigative work.
“Look for the truth…put aside politics. The DCI is being
used to undermine my office. Many of them are not ashamed to say Ruto will not
be there in 2022 yet they are walking around.
“This man lying here was my officer and he has died because of the dirty tricks going around,” he remarked, distancing his office from the procurement of guns.
