Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday, displayed Kenya’s flag as the country marked Jamhuri Day celebrations.

Kenyans could not contain their joy and excitement as they shared photos and videos of the spectacular display on social media.

Some even went ahead to compare the building with KICC, suggesting that the latter should borrow a leaf, never mind the costs incurred.


You might wonder how much it costs to place an ad at the Burj Khalifa.

Well, according to MullenLowe MENA, the marketing agency that handles promotions for the building, a three-minute display costs around Sh6.8million.

Prices also vary depending on the time the ads are displayed.

If you intend to place your ad over the weekend you might have to part with roughly Sh9.5million if the ad will be displayed between 8pm-10pm.

In case you want five three-minute displays between 7pm and midnight you will have to pay Sh27million.

With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and a roof height (excluding antenna) of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009.
