World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge on Friday, October 18, 2019, threatened to sue NRG radio for using his name without consent.
This came after the radio station changed their name to Kipchoge radio in honour of the athlete.
They went ahead to add that they would award Kipchoge a new BMW if the station got to 1million followers on Instagram by Thursday, October 17, 2019.
Kipchoge’s lawyer, Donald Kipkorir, however, rubbished the claims saying that the athlete never asked for any gift from the station.

“Our client never asked for and doesn't require any gifting of your car or any other car," lawyer Kipkorir said
He added that the station acted without permission to inform listeners and followers to follow them.
"That without our client's permission, authority or license or any colour of right, you fraudulently informed your listeners and followers by following you, you will gift our client a car” added the lawyer.
Kipchoge has however given the radio station two hours to tender an apology and wipe out his name before the two parties settle for an amount payable for the violations.
