Three-time World Champion Asbel Kiprop has come out to plead for forgiveness from his wife after admitting to cheating on her.
In a recent interview with Nick Mudimba on Switch TV, Asbel disclosed that the woman he was cheating with on his wife also had an affair with another man hence he was coming out clean to his wife and the society.
“At the moment the woman is in good terms with the husband but I have a problem because my wife has run away but I want to bring her back. I told her that I was confessing to something that she didn’t know for two years,” revealed Kiprop.
The 1500 meter champion also disclosed that his wife has not returned ever since she walked out of their matrimonial home.
In a damning clip that leaked a few weeks ago, the athlete filmed himself with a woman in a car while listening to Kalenjin music.

The woman’s blouse was fully unbuttoned exposing her bra as she shook her body in rhythm to the music playing in the background.
In an interview with The Nairobian, Andrew Chepsiya, the husband to Nancy Rotich - the woman in the video clip, disclosed that she had been blackmailed into sleeping with the former champion.
“She told me that Asbel had agreed to fund her campaigns during the elections only if they met at a restaurant in town. The athlete convinced her to order wine and got her drunk,” Chepsiya told The Nairobian.
He added that: “My wife does not drink. I have never seen her drink alcohol. I was shocked to see her looking drunk in that video.”
In the interview with Nick Mudimba, Kiprop said not only does he want his family back but also another chance to return to the track and show his prowess.
