A first term MP from Nyanza region is under siege from a section of his constituents for issuing a bouncing cheque to a family that was grieving.
Sources have told The Grapevine that the politician recently gave out the cheque during a funeral, only for it to be rejected at the bank.
It is understood that the leader issued the document to the family of the deceased, after his rival in the last elections while condoling with the bereaved dished out to the family Sh200,000.
Not one to be outdone in public the representative quickly summoned an aide who brought him a cheque book and declared that he has donated Sh300,000 to the family.
He is now the talk of the constituency with many people wondering if he has run broke.
