Moses Kuria comes to the rescue of 'Ikamba' song musician

The controversial Ikamba song artiste John Gichiri has been released after Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria paid his Sh 250,000 bail. Ikamba song caused a stir after its release with claims that it spread ethnic hatred.

Gichiri released the song alongside two other artists. Kenyan Film and Classification Board (KFCB) called for the arrest of the artists, producers, and distributors immediately it hit the airwaves.

The artiste had been detained at Industrial Area Remand Prison after he failed to pay the Sh700,000 cash bail granted to him by the court.

Earlier during an interview with a local vernacular radio station, the legislator had vowed that Njau was not going to stay in prison citing that he was not among the two artists behind the song. The MP said that Gichiri was an extra who was filmed picking a mango from a wheelbarrow.
