When children are polite, kind and honest, they develop character and naturally will draw people towards them. Here are ways to spare the rod and spoil the child to their own benefit.

Use the magic words:

Please and thank you are words that hold meaning and are essential that your child learns them. Showing gratitude to something that has been done for them and learning how to request for something is important.

Good table manners:

Children mainly learn through watching and will mimic almost everything you say or do. Ensure that how you sit at the dinner table and eat your food is appropriate. Teach them to wash hands before and after meals, they usually eat with their fingers and hands so it is best to keep clean. As much as you would like to help them wash up or eat, there will be times you will not be around and they will not take the initiative.

Respect:

Teach your child to be respectful to everyone regardless of age, race or tribe. Ensure that they respond to a grown up respectfully and are saying the truth at all times. Children pick up habits at an early stage therefore if they start being rude, it is very difficult teach them otherwise. Kids that are polite are likely to be social and likeable by everyone.

 Electronic etiquettes:

Today, every child is tech savvy even at a tender age and can be able to find their way through an electronic gadget. You can therefore instill manners to your child on the limits of using an electronic gadget. Teach them that long hours of watching the TV, playing their play stations is wrong. Also be keen to teach them how to answer the phone in a courteous way.
