Music producer Njenga Chege, also known as Magix Enga, has revealed messages that appear to be from American pop star Rick Ross, expressing interest in collaborating on a project.
During an interview with Willy M Tuva, Magix Enga presented evidence of his communication with the owner of Maybach Music record label, indicating they were in talks about working together, though the collaboration did not materialize.
"I want to show Kenyans one of the reasons why I stopped wanting to do music with Rick Ross. There was a time I announced I was working on a song with Rick Ross, and I posted about it, but people insulted me, calling it fake. Here is the evidence," he said, handing the phone to Willy to verify.
Magix Enga mentioned that the matter is resolved and he won't dwell on it further since it didn't come to fruition.
"In fact, I've already put that matter to rest. Maybe now Rick Ross should try to collaborate with the president. He hasn't even heard the sheng that goes on in the studio," he added.
Recently making a comeback in the music industry after taking a break for almost a year due to unforeseen circumstances, Magix expressed gratitude to those who supported him.
"Back from the shadows, stronger than ever. Mungu Wangu Hujainiangusha. Thank you to everyone who never lost faith in me, Kerry Lens, Willy M Tuva, Asila Bunny, Nebert Nebo, Big Afrique Studios, DJ Sule, and especially my incredible wife who stood by my side through it all. Massive big up to my friends and fans too... you've been asking where Enga went... Enga is back! Time to create some epic timeless music," he wrote.
The renowned rapper now works as a producer at Big Afrique Studios, situated in his hometown of Eldoret.
"As I step back into the limelight, I carry with me the support of an incredible team and the unwavering belief of my new Hometown, Eldoret. Together, we'll write a story of resilience, redemption, and gratitude. Magix Enga On The Beat, shaking up things in the Eldoret music scene... Ladies and gentlemen, meet the newest producer at Big Afrique Studios. Looking forward to what this new chapter brings and all the dope music we'll get to create together," he added.
Magix Enga's return to the music scene is a relief for his fans who were concerned about his safety and mental health after pictures of him looking beaten surfaced on social media.
Motif The Don was one of the individuals who rallied his fans and fellow producers to help Magix Enga get back on his feet.
"I do not know if those artists he worked with have reached out. There was a song that I did, and it was banned; he was against my work at that time and he really blasted me. As producers, we need to collaborate and work together rather than fighting each other. He is the one who started issues. I reached out to him after that, but he was not remorseful. I pray he gets help and comes out of the place he is in right now," he said.
