For about two months now, there have been reports of mysterious deaths in the city that have left detectives either in a fix or taking long to crack the cases.
More shocking is that about five cases have happened within Kasarani estate in Nairobi leaving a trail of questions among the city residents.
First, the case of Jeff Mwathi, an interior designer who supposedly fell from the 10th floor of a city apartment on February 22, 2023. Later on, it emerged that the deceased had visited the house of Mugithi singer DJ Fatxo in a meeting that turned out to be a party at the DJ's house.
But the DJ told the press that he went with Jeff to his house but later left in the company of three ladies and when he returned, he said Jeff was not in the house and he went to report to the police that he (Jeff) was missing.
On February 21, the life of Brenda Kawira came to a tragic end after allegedly jumping from a fourth-floor building in Kasarani. It was after her demise that her boyfriend confessed that they had quarrelled on their way to the bedroom.
It is reported that an unhappy Kawira walked to the balcony and jumped to her death leaving the family in shock.
Sometime in March 2023, Blair Muthoni died under unclear circumstances after she fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in Kasarani.
Her two roommates were arrested and later more questions emerged after it was noted that her body did not have any broken bones after falling from the building.
In late 2022, another woman nicknamed King Alami fell from the seventh floor of a building along Lumumba Drive
In another latest incident on April 8, two men were arrested after a woman claimed she had been pushed off the second floor of an apartment in Kasarani area, Nairobi.
Cynthia Mboya, 26, fell to the ground floor of Q Apartment after a scuffle on Sunday night that involved her boyfriend and his friend.
She told police she had shown up at the apartment to visit her boyfriend who was then with a male friend.
The deaths are certainly a cause for concern, and investigations must be held as to what exactly is happening in Kasarani.
