Nairobi, Kenya: Four suspected thugs, among them a woman, were early Tuesday morning shot dead by police in a botched robbery in Kayole, Nairobi and weapons recovered.
One gunman, who police believe was an expert in handling guns, escaped after engaging the officers in a shootout using an AK47 rifle.
Police say a gang of five had planned to attack a local shop at about 5 am when they were confronted by officers on patrol.
Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno said they recovered three pistols including a homemade gun from the deceased.
He said the gang was in a car at an open field when they were confronted by police.
