NAROK: The County has set aside Sh570 million to rehabilitate the town's drainage system.
Governor Samuel Tunai said the projects will stop frequent flooding that has ravaged the area for long - leading to loss of life and property.
Speaking when he met traders and boda boda riders at Narok Youth Empowerment Centre hall in Narok town, Tunai said his government is committed to addressing the problems affecting residents.
"Most of the lost property belongs to small scale business owners and we will ensure floods are a thing of the past. I ask the business community to be patient as we normalise situations," he said. "A tender has already been awarded to a company that will employ more than 400 youths."
Recently, traders threatened to stop remitting taxes until the government addressed the flooding menace.
