Kirinyaga, Kenya: An administrator in Kirinyaga County escaped death by a whisker after a suspected drug trafficker attacked him with a machete at Nyangati village as he attempted to arrest the suspect.
The Nyangati Sub-location assistant Chief had gone to arrest the man said to be involved in peddling of bhang in the area when he was accosted by the machete wielding suspect.
"He stormed out brandishing a sharp object and struck the administrator on head injuring him seriously, " said the County Police Commander Ms Christine Mutua.
Members of the public who heard the administrator screaming raised an alarm and police showed up at the scene and subdued the suspect before arresting him.
