A woman landed into marital trouble last week after attending a bizarre miracle prayer meeting at a church in Nairobi’s Kawangware estate.
Alize, a mother of a three-months-old infant, has problems with lactating (production of milk) thus her unweaned child does not get enough milk.
An earlier visit to a medical expert had established that Alize needed sufficient and balanced diet. However, due to hard economic times, this has been impossible.
Frustrated, Alize went to seek divine intervention. A pastor was readily available to offer this service via a miracle.
She had heard from a neighbour of a pastor in the area whose prayers brought all sorts of miracles.
Trance
Alize resolved to attend one of the services at the church whereupon she expected to receive a miracle that could help in increasing her milk production.
One Sunday morning, she left without informing her husband about her mission at the church. After the service, the pastor asked people who had problems to remain behind for a special miracle service. Many stayed back.
Before this ‘very important’ service began, everybody was instructed to state his or her problems. Many cited financial issues, others had unstable marriages, a few wanted relief from strange dreams, others wanted to be delivered from the devil that caused their money to disappear, a multitude was in search for a supernatural power that could restore their health from an assortment of sicknesses among other problems.
When Alize’s turn came, she cited lack of milk in her breast to feed her three-months-old baby.
The pastor promised to pray for her to end her problems.
"Each one of you must have faith to receive a healing miracle," said the pastor.
The man of the cloth started a worship chorus that threw people into a trance. Soon after, the pastor was speaking in tongues. Some of the people in need of miracles threw themselves down and rolled on the ground.
Then it was time for the pastor to distribute his miracles to individual persons. He moved around praying while touching his subject’s heads or parts of the body where one felt unwell.
Eventually it was Alize’s time to receive her miracle. The preacher came to her and touched and squeezed her breasts as he prayed for increased milk production.
Squeezed
Sources say the pastor took more time with Alize than anyone else. He continued touching and squeezing both breasts as he mumbled things that he alone understood. Then he left her to attend to the next person on the queue.
After three days, milk production in Alize’s breasts had not increased. She felt cheated. Moreover, one of her breasts had been injured by the firm squeezes she received from the pastor.
Three more days later, the bruises on the teat became septic and her husband took her to hospital.
It is while the medical expert was taking her medical history that Alize revealed what happened to her breast.
On making this discovery Alize’s husband was devastated and threw her and the child out of his house. Their marriage is broken irreparably.
