Gor Mahia legends have urged the team to go for nothing but victory in the 96th Mashemeji derby at Nyayo National Stadium tomorrow.

They have also directed the 19-times FKF Premier League champions to bag the next three games if they want to secure a CAF Champions League slot next season.

"The upcoming clashes against Leopards, Tusker and Ulinzi are crucial, they are a must win," former club and international defender Tobias 'Jau kali' Ochola told Standard Sports.

Ochola's sentiments were echoed by former Harambee Stars skipper Austin Oduor who urged the side he captained in their 1987 Mandela Cup victory to stamp their authority in the upcoming fixtures.

Both Ochola and Oduor were speaking in Nairobi yesterday at an event where the legends were honoured by Information, Communication and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

The legends, composed mostly of the side that lifted the Mandela Cup, will be among the fans who will watch the derby tomorrow.

The legends are set to be treated to a sumptuous luncheon at a Nairobi hotel as they interact freely with the current crop of players at the club.

Apart from networking, the legends will offer sound advice to the young players while urging them to go for the 'kill' on the Leopards.

"The legends are our pride and glory, they have the experience, the guidance and the technical skills that can be beneficial to the country's sports fraternity," Owalo underlined.

"Together with Oduor, we have explored the possibility of bringing back these former players together, starting with the Sunday derby.
