Kenya Police dreams of winning the FKF Premier League title were slowed down after a 0-0 draw against FC Talanta on Saturday at Nyayo Stadium.

While it was heartbreak for Police, the draw was a salvation for FC Talanta who are fighting to stay afloat with five matches left until the end of the season.

Talanta moved six points clear off the relegation zone with the point taking their tally of the season to 28 points and 15th in the standings.

Mathare United who are 16th and currently in the relegation playoffs position have 22 points but have two games in hand compared to Talanta.

Police coach Francis Baraza rued missed chances in the game.

"We wasted a lot of clear goal-scoring opportunities in the opening half that cost us the game. We have to be clinical. It's however good we did not lose but we have to play better next time out," said Baraza.

Police who were hoping to pose a serious late surge for the title now find themselves 12 points away from leaders Gor Mahia and seven points off Nzoia Sugar who are third.
