Defending champions Strathmore University Scorpions will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they face off against Dutch Flower Girls (DFG) Wolverines at 2pm at City Park as the 2023 Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Women's Premier League gathers space.
Scorpions who ended Blazers Hockey Club (formerly Telkom) reign as Kenyan champions last season have had a mixed start to the new season where they have lost one, drawn one and won one game in their opening three matches.
The university students got off to a perfect start after seeing off University of Nairobi 2-0 before losing 2-1 to their nemesis Blazers 2-1 in their second match on April 9.
Last weekend, the champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Amira Sailors and they would hope to bring to an end their two match winless run when they face Wolverines.
Wolverines who have played two matches against Kenyatta University (won 1-0) and Sailors (lost 1-0) will also be eying to return to winning ways after their last defeat on April 10th.
Their second match of the day will see Kenyatta University face off against University of Nairobi in the university derby from 12 noon.
Scorpions are top with four points same as Sailors who have played a game less.
In the men's Premier League, Kenya Police will take on Amira Sailors in the late kick off match from 4pm.
Police have won one (2-1 against Greensharks) and drawn one match (1-1 against Wazalendo).
Defending champions Butali Sugar are currently top of the league with six points after winning their opening two matches against Sikh Union (3-1) and Greensharks (4-1).
Police and Wazalendo are joint second on four points.
