Everton legend Steven Pienaar believes many East Africans, if well nurtured, can be successful in European leagues.
Pienaar said the English Premier League remains a dream to many players and this can be achieved by featuring in numerous international competitions like Sportpesa Cup tournament.
Pienaar urged aspiring players to take advantage of such tournaments to showcase their talent.
“It’s a good opportunity for the players. If I’m a player who plays in Africa and I play against a team from the Premier League, I want to show my talent,” said Pienaar, who was in Tanzania for the annual tournament.
“This is an opportunity to show that you are good just as others from Europe and fortunately, one or two can be scouted and move abroad,” added Piennar.
