Arsenal boss Unai Emery fears Laurent Koscielny has broken his jaw.
The French defender was down for around eight minutes requiring treatment after being kicked in the face by Romelu Lukaku in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
Koscielny was in clear discomfort as he made his way off the pitch with Sokratis also suffering an injury earlier in the match.
The pair have added to Arsenal's injury problems with Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding both long-term absentees.
Speaking after the match, Emery confirmed Koscielny was set to go to hospital for X-rays amid fears he has sustained a broken jaw.

There was better news on Sokratis, who went off after landing awkwardly following a challenge from Jesse Lingard.
Emery confirmed the injury was to the defender's ankle but it was unlikely to be a "big injury".
"Our injuries changed our possibility to do something different. When we were 2-1 down we had chances to draw but we didn’t score," he said.
Sokratis hurt his ankle – I hope not a lot. Koscielny is different. It was maybe a break.
"I hope not but he’s going to the hospital and we’re going to wait.
"We are taking a lot of big injuries, like Hector Bellerin."
