Manchester United reportedly want Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure in pre-season and recently criticised the club for failing to land his top transfer targets.
His position is not believed to be under immediate threat but United's chiefs know who they want if he does go, reports the Sun.
Former Real boss Zidane is top of United's wishlist following his trophy-laden spell at the Bernabeu.
Zidane won three Champions League titles during his time at Real before walking away this summer.
