Immediate former Gor Mahia coach Jose Marcello Ferreira "Ze Maria" has been appointed as the new manager of Albanian side FK Tirana, barely 24 hours after leaving the 15-time Kenya Premier league champions.
The Brazilian, who led K'ogallo to Kenya Premier League glory at the end of the 2015/16 season, resigned last week after the club refused to budge to his demands for a salary increment days after the club won the Sportpesa Supercup title in Tanzania.
Former Harambee Stars coach Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno has since been handed the job on an interim basis, and his former boss is now back in the game as well.
According to Albanian media, Ze Maria addressed his first media press conference minutes after he was unveiled for the top job on Saturday 17th June.
It is understood that Ze Maria’s main role will be to lead the club who were relegated last season- back to the country’s top-tier league (Super Liga).
