The National Alliance Party (TNA) nominated Senator Joy Gwendo has pointed an accusing finger at party Secretary General Onyango Oloo.
Speaking during opening of a house built for a widow in Rapogi Village in Kisumu on Saturday, the senator said her suspension was driven by "witch-hunt and selfish ambition" by some party officials from the region.
In a statement, which appeared to be directed at Mr Oloo, the senator said she would not bow down to witch-hunt and pressure.
"It doesn't take anybody to see that there was selfishness in my dismissal. There was witch-hunt from Kisumu TNA office and people affiliated to Mr Oloo," she said.
The National Disciplinary Committee had accused Ms Gwendo of being disrespectful to the party and recommended her expulsion through the National Oversight Board.
