Residents of Konate in Nyamira Town are reeling from shock after a man’s mutilated body was retrieved from two sacks dumped on the road by an unknown motorist.

Nyamira South Sub-County police commander Moses Kirong told The Standard that the two polythene sacks, black and red respectively, were thrown out of a speeding vehicle at the Kisii-Nyamira-Ikonge junction at 10pm.

Kirong said the human body parts had been cut into pieces and stashed in the sacks.

“The victim’s head was missing,” he said, pledging to conduct a probe into the bizarre incident.

Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have taken up the matter, and would seek eyewitnesses’ accounts to help track down the suspects.

“The killers of this man would be known fairly soon,” said Mariba.

The body parts were taken to the Nyamira County Referral Hospital morgue.
