A woman pleaded guilty to stealing cooking oil at a supermarket in Nairobi. Vivian Achieng was arrested at Muindi Mweusi Supermarket on January 21.
According to court details, Achieng stole five liters of cooking oil and hid it between her legs. On the stated date, the court was told that Achieng was captured on camera while committing the offense and then headed to the exit.
But before she could leave, the security team that had been tracking her managed to stop the accused before the police were called to take over the case.
The court heard that Achieng had also recently been arrested for the same offense in the supermarket. While appearing before the Makadara Chief Magistrate Francis Kyambia, the accused pleaded guilty to stealing.
The court, however, ordered that the cooking oil should be tabled in court as an exhibit before deciding on the matter.
