Traffic between Nyayo Stadium roundabout and the Nairobi Southern Bypass interchange along Parkside towers will be temporarily disrupted for at least five days.

This is according to the Kenya National Highway Authorities (KeNHA), who attributed the diversion to maintenance works.

The maintenance will take place between 10.00pm and 5.00am from June 1, to June 6, 2023.

"KeNHA wishes to notify the public of temporary diversion of traffic between Nyayo Stadium Roundabout and Southern Bypass Interchange (Parkside Towers), to allow for maintenance works on the carriageway," the Authority said in a circular on Thursday, June 1.

Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes to avoid inconveniences.

"Motorists will be diverted to share Nairobi-bound lanes," read the notice.

During this period, motorists are advised to be extra cautious and adhere to the traffic rules while driving along these roads.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen recently noted that some roads needed to be repaired as they had been damaged by the heavy rains.

Some of the roads to be repaired include Mombasa Road (A8) which was damaged during the construction of the Nairobi Expressway.

Murkomen instructed KeNHA to do repairs on the road to prevent further destruction.
