The causes of environmental degradation are well known. Unfortunately, efforts to help mitigate the challenges are inadequate and not well-coordinated.
Nature is very unforgiving, as Nobel Laureate Wangari Maathai always remind us, and some losses cannot be undone.
It is, therefore, prudent that the necessary remedial measures be taken urgently to redress the situation before it spirals out of control.
