Kenya has recorded 810 new Covid-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours raising the country's total caseload to 79, 322.

In statistics posted on the Ministry of Health’s Twitter account on Wednesday, a total of 7,387 samples were tested pushing the country’s cumulative tests to 855,403.

In terms of gender, 254 are male and 159 are female while the youngest case is five-year-old and the oldest is aged 99.

Of the new cases, 792 are Kenyans while 18 are foreigners.

The ministry said 265 patients recovered with 210 of them coming from the home-based care program while 55 were discharged from various hospitals bringing the total number of recoveries to 52,974.

On a sad note, Kagwe said 8 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing Kenya’s fatalities to 1,417.

1,198 patients are admitted in different facilities across the country while 7,169 are in home-based care. 49 are patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of which 31 are on ventilatory support while 14 are on supplemental oxygen.

The country has 106 patients in the supplementary oxygen, where 91 are from general wards while 15 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU)
