Careem delivers his anticipated "Rap Up 2024," addressing last year's biggest headlines in Kenya in one sprawling track.
Clocking in at 8 minutes, the track, produced by Musa Kiama of B-Records, creatively paints a picture of how events unfolded in 2024.
Careem's Rap Up tackles various topics, from Femicide, extra-judicial killings, and trending stories when it comes to entertainment, the ongoing abductions, and sums up with the events that took place in the sports.
" The inspiration to come up with RAP UP 2024 was inspired by Uncle Murda, I have been listening to his series of RAP UP since way back in 2022 -2023, did my research, and noticed nobody else has ever done such a thing in Kenya, I had to go an extra mile and share the idea with my producer Musa Kiama, he was impressed with the idea and he gave me a go-ahead so before 2023 elapsed I got myself a notebook in readiness of 2024. When 2024 came I was jotting down all the emerging or trending issues, mind you, In Kenya majorly the negatives' over the positives' is what trends. So I had to be updated every time, thanks to the Vlogs and news, especially KTN News as the main source of information, on 2nd of December 2024, I had the information that I needed and that's how RAP UP was born, this is just a start and expect that to be a routine year in year out". Said Careem.
