Diamond Platnumz’s mother Sanura Kassim suffered a stroke in 2013. This is according to her son, Wasafi founder and singer Naseeb Abdul Juma alias Diamond Platnumz.
Telling it all in an interview with ‘The Switch’ on Wasafi FM, Platnumz opened up as to why he insists on medical insurance and the real reason why Sanura has to enjoy all the trappings of his success. “She got paralyzed just before Tiffah was born," said the Bongo Flava star, disclosing that it drove him into a state of helplessness and confusion.

Emphasizing on the importance of insurance, the Kwangwaru hitmaker admitted that his earnings from music saved the day. “I don’t know what I would have done to offset her bills were it not for music… I would also want to thank Clouds Media manager Joseph Kusaga. He paid for three business class tickets. You can imagine I travelled severally, back and forth - costs hit the roof.”
Asked how much he spent, he noted that he spent Sh50,000 per day when she was hospitalized in Tanzania before flying her out. “This was all because I had no medical cover. So, when the government says it wants to have every Tanzanian on health cover, what that means is that when you fall sick you don’t have to spend a penny. You are covered, including your kin.”
