Opposition leader Raila Odinga has subtly responded to firebrand politician Miguna Miguna’s questioning the authenticity of his academic qualifications.
Through a bitter exchange with economist David Ndii on twitter on 24 March, Miguna suggested that Raila had received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an unaccredited German university.
"That was not an accredited university or technical institute in East Germany in the 1960s when Raila purportedly graduated from there. In addition, that school did not have an engineering faculty in the 1960s. Raila must come up with better lies," Miguna wrote on Twitter.
“Looks like Raila is not the only prominent person who studied at the non-existent university,” Ndii responded, attaching a list of prominent alumni from Otto Von Guericke University Magdeburg, in Germany.
It seems the exchange between the former allies caught Raila’s attention as he shared throwback photos, supposedly taken during his time as a student in Germany.
