After failing to show up for a court case hearing on May 29th, 2018, the former Miss Tanzania left tongues wagging after her mother, Miriam Sepetu told the Dar es Salaam court that her daughter, who is facing drug-related charges, could not attend court proceedings because she was in India for treatment.
Shortly after her return, Tanzanian tabloids reported that the award winning actress had gone to India for waist reduction treatment and liposuction showing before and after photos of Wema to prove their case.
While it remains unclear as to what she was doing in the Asian country, Wema has come out to set the record straight.
During the Miss Morogoro beauty pageant where she was one of the judges, Wema revealed that she underwent a fertility treatment denying earlier reports of body modification.
‘’Well I don’t have to talk about vitu vyangu personally but nadhani kwamba inajulikana kwamba in a long time nimekuwa na tatizo la kushika mimba kwahiyo vitu vingine nahisi kama vile ni very discreet and sitaki kuiweka out in the open sio kila kitu lazima watu wajue kuhusu maisha yangu lakini kuhusu ugonjwa wangu its mostly because of matatizo yangu ya kutokushika mimba haina chochote kingine,” said Wema.
It has never been a secret that the beauty longs to be a mother.
‘’Wema really desires to be a mother. She hasn’t given up on that quest. She has traveled to India to receive fertility treatment. I understand she will undergo a surgical operation,’’ a source close to the family revealed to Global Publishers when she was away in India pending her court hearing.
