A 68-year-old man who had been handed a life sentence by a Nairobi court for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter is ready to stand trial afresh after his appeal was granted.
Daniel Chege had been accused of defiling his daughter on June 24, 2006 at Githurai Kimbo estate.
Chege, who was held at Kamiti Maximum Prison, allegedly called the minor who playing outside their house with other children.
He reportedly asked her to go to the bedroom and apparently forced her to drink drugged milk which made her unconscious.
According to police, the minor woke up in excruciating pain only to find his elderly father lying beside her stark naked. She was also bleeding from her private parts.
