Nairobi, Kenya: Many students from various parts of the country who sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) are now faced with a selection dilemma despite scoring well in their exams.
Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) plans to challenge in court the recent Form One student’s selection exercise for national schools, arguing it discriminated against pupils from private schools.
The action follows public outcry that there are so many pupils who got more than 400 marks but most of them have been selected to join county extra schools instead of national or county schools.
Kenya National Association of Parents (KNAP) Secretary General Musau Ndunda has also accused the Ministry of Education for allegedly hiding information to enable independent analysis of the selection process.
Did your child score well in KCPE? Are you happy about the form one selection, please share with us your joy or frustration by sending us name, age, marks, school where exams were sat and the form one intake.
