Keiyo North OCPD Moses Kanyi is dead. Kanyi died on Wednesday at an Eldoret Hospital after developing breathing problems.
Responding to speculation that Kanyi died of Covid-19 related complications, Elgeyo Marakwet County Police Commander, Patrick Lumumba, said doctors will make a determination as to the cause of death.
"We have lost the OCPD after he exhibited breathing complications. It is upon the medics to confirm if the death was as a result of coronavirus or otherwise," said Lumumba.
He added that Kanyi was in good health and had been overseeing the administration of the ongoing examination across Keiyo North.
"Mr Kanyi was a dedicated police officer whose service to the community and the nation will be missed," said the commander.
