Kenya’s Jeff Koinange, Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee, Rwanda’s DJ Contact Makeda and Uganda’s Gaetano Kagwa are officially in as the judges of the first ever edition of East Africa’s Got Talent.
The four were unveiled today by the show’s main sponsors Safaricom and Cocacola at an event in Nairobi, Kenya.
“Please judge the contestants with wisdom and compassion. I have watched some versions of the show in other markets, and I believe you can be honest and compassionate. It is going to be a tough but interesting journey in the selection process, we wish you nothing but the best.” Chief Financial Services Officer at Safaricom, Sitoyo Lopokoiyit said.
Uganda’s Anne Kansiime will host the show which is a part of Simon Cowell’s Got talent franchise.
The show which is set to start on August 4, 2019 will air across four East African countries among them; Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.

Clouds Media and Rapid Blue are the official production company and the show will air on Citizen TV, NBS TV and RTV.
The show is a platform for a variety of talents from people of all ages from East Africa, with acts ranging from singing, dancing, comedy, magic, juggling, stunts and other variety genres.
The auditions were done across all the four countries in the months of May and June. The filming will take place in Nairobi with semifinals and the finals set to be recorded later in the year.
The winner of the event will take home a cash prize of KES 5,000,000.
