Nakuru residents protest alleged police killing of brothers

Residents of Mercy Njeri estate in Nakuru yesterday blocked the Nakuru-Kabarak road to protest the killing of two brothers by a police officer.

Charles Kariuki and John Maina were shot dead by a CID officer commonly known as ‘Kiarie’ after an argument with a bar owner who referred to them as thieves.

 Rongai OCPD Joseph Mwamburi claims the two were thugs who tried to break into a mobile money transfer service shop.

Police are conducting investigations to ascertain the claims.
