Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero has issued a statement on the re-opening of the Mihango road.
He noted that the re-opening of the Mihango-Kayole access route and bridge is a big win for Eastlands’ Nairobi residents as this will ensure reduced traffic congestion, shorten travelling distance necessitating fare reduction, increase market access to products by traders and business people, and increase property values.
“We all know that KDF whimsically acquired the 5,000 acres, and it is very unfortunate that it had to take the intervention of the President, despite a court order for KDF to reopen the access route.” He added.
Governor Kidero concluded that his Government is continuously committed in reclaiming all illegally acquired public land in Nairobi, and he will do all within his willpower to revert the same for public use.
