Colonial reserves called 'Schools'

Our education system is experiencing unrest, everyone is on their feet turning the gun toward each other, blame game has started , the game that puts everyone on the defense making us forget how to seek the cause and resolve this crisis. This game denies us an opportunity to analyze the situation and come up with long lasting solutions .

i believe we have a chance to transform the education sector that seem to have been left behind by the changes that the society have gone through . We must learn to treat our students with the respect they deserve and give them a chance to enjoy the fruits that the change in society has brought ,

School should not be a limiting center , its not a prison . we can't keep our student in a jail where they can't experience the changes taking place. Education should be a tool to deliver individual freedom ,training one to depend upon themselves and allowing one to evaluate life and make the right decision..Its not a rehabilitation center its a training center ,

its absurd that to this day we are denying our student access to technological devices which we are much dependent on. We want to put them in a technological jail . where we presume that access to this devices will destroy their life or they shall misuse these devices. We have taken them to trial even before they have committed the crimes presumed.

What we are dealing with is a society crisis , a society trying to defend its future generation from an evil world . A society that thinks it can build a safe heaven for their children .
Without knowing we have created colonial reserves in the name of schools . where we withhold our children, teaching them how to get a good job while we are not even secure with our own. Our children are now fighting for their freedom , they have to bit where it hurts. They have sharpened their fighting tactics just as we have show them . We have taught them to result to violence when aggrieved, just as we light fire in our streets when we demonstrate , they are burning down their dormitories.

Have you ever wondered why the dormitory and not classes ? . The place where they sleep, a place where we would think they enjoy most . A place where a teacher have to force them out early in the morning to go to classes, Dormitories are one place where students never leave voluntarily.

Our students are crying for freedom , freedom to be heard and allowed to excises their rights . We have to listen to this cry and fighting back will not settle their fight . We might win and suppress their fight if we fight back , just as we deed in 2008 when we experienced the same unrest but they will regroup again. May be not the same students but different once fighting for the same reasons . We should not instill fear to our student through tough rules and regulations but we should open dialogue with them .

Let allow the change to take place , we can handle the outcome when we still have an idea of what is to happen.
