Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal’s fear of being displaced from the old Trafford is now down with one percent after the threatening Pochettino signs a five year contract with the Spurs.
The Argentine, who had earlier agreed to a new deal at White Hart Lane, has been confirmed by the clubs Chairman Daniel Levy as the new coach.
Pochettino, who seemed to have close links with former Manchester boss Fergusn, was believed to be the ideal coach to lead the Reds back on track.
However, the Reds dreams have been shuttered by this move that Levy describes as ‘a tremendous spirit and ethos’ that Pochettino possess.
"We’ve seen Mauricio bring a tremendous spirit and ethos to our club and embrace the attacking style of play with which we have always been associated.’ Said Levy

“He’s built a squad of youth and experience and this season we’ve seen football played at the highest level – quite sublime at times.” He added.
Speculation over his move to Old Trafford sparked on Tuesday, after he was spotted dining in London with Sir Alex Ferguson.
"I could not be happier to sign this contract," said Pochettino, speaking to Spurs' official website.
"It was an easy decision for my coaching staff and I because we can feel the appreciation of everyone here and there is no better place to be right now.
"We have enjoyed a great season and we believe this is just the beginning. We have a long-term project and huge belief that we can achieve something big here for the future.
"This club has all the ingredients to continue to challenge at the very top in both the Premier League and Europe and we want to be here to be part of what I believe will be a special period in the club's history." He added.
