Mombasa OCPD Martin Asin died in a grisly road accident early Tuesday evening. The accident is said to have happened at Maungu along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.
Regional commissioner Nelson Marwa confirmed Asin's death saying he was driving alone in a car when he was hit by a truck from the opposite direction.
"He was driving to Nairobi when he was hit by a truck that was being driven recklessly," said Marwa.
“Asin was badly injured in the accident and was flown to Nairobi by the Amref Flying Doctors but was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nairobi Hospital," said Marwa.
He moved to Mombasa as the new urban OCPD in August last year after serving as Deputy OCPD at Nairobi Central Police Station.
