Strathmore University stunned Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in the Kenya Universities Sports Association (Nakusa) Nairobi Conference games.
Hosts Strathmore recorded a slim, but invaluable 1-0 win over CUEA in the entertaining encounter.
It took James Gichana just two minutes to put Strathmore on the driving seat with a well-taken goal. Thereafter, the hosts dominated the rest of the action, but were guilty as well of missing several scoring opportunities.
On resumption for the second half, Strathmore pilled more pressure on their opponents, but Catholic’s goalkeeper Emmanuel Kumai was equal to the task.
Commenting after the match, CUEA’s coach Malaki Ouma said his players had a good match, despite the loss.
