US Bittam coach Oman Biyik believes that the team which scores early during Sunday’s champions league match against Gor Mahia will carry the day.

The former Cameroon international said his team will work hard to make it impossible for the home team to get an early goal which he believes will make the difference in the match.

“We have a strategy to get at least one goal away because it will make the return match easier for us. To do this, we have to keep Gor Mahia from getting an early goal as this will motivate them.

“On the other hand, I also understand that if they do not get an early goal then frustration will set in and this should give us an advantage.

“It is possible that the fans may turn against them and make it easier for us to get the results we want,” said the coach.

Biyik has on the overall predicted a tough match for both teams who are winners of their respective leagues.

“Here we have two teams that have good players and are determined to get to the next round. It is not going to be easy for any of the two sides. Gor Mahia have the home advantage and we have the desire to pick a positive result at home,” he observed.

Elsewhere, after winning last year’s GOtv shield and coming close to the league title, AFC Leopards coach James Nandwa is a man under seige as fans demand for more from him.

Nandwa has becoming increasingly under pressure especially after the team failed to perform in the Mapinduzi Cup held in Zanzibar two months ago and the worst was a poor performance in the Kenya Power Charity Cup.

After spending millions to assemble his squad, the fans are not ready to excuse Nandwa, but ahead of Sunday’s Confederations Cup match against Defense of Ethiopia the coach is sounding optimistic of a positive result.

“This week we have spent a lot of time on sharpening our attack and working on our defensive weaknesses.

Our goal is to score at least two or three goals which should cushion us come the return leg,” Nandwa said yesterday.

The coach said he is aware of the expectations of the fans and he insists he will not let them down but has also called for patience.
